Full Sail University is a private, for-profit university in Winter Park, Florida. It was formerly a recording studio in Ohio named Full Sail Productions and Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts. The school moved to Florida in 1980 and began offering online degrees in 2007. The safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff have been the top priority as we have begun to reopen Full Sail University’s campus over the last four months. In addition to our current protocols, Full Sail is proud to announce a partnership with Aventus Health to offer on-site symptomatic COVID-19 testing beginning Thursday, October 15.

Students and employees who are actively experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have failed the symptom monitoring attestation, or who fail a temperature check on campus are eligible to receive a referral from Full Sail University for the test. This testing site will be based on Full Sail’s referral service only and will NOT be accepting any walk-up appointments.

Over the past two months, we’ve been encouraged by the successful phase one re-opening of Full Sail’s campus. Small groups of students have voluntarily and safely attended eligible labs, while following strict health and safety protocols alongside our staff and educators. These protocols included daily health attestations, temperature checks, mandatory face coverings, social distancing measures, and sanitization and disinfection of spaces and equipment throughout the campus, as well as careful scheduling to reduce the number of students on campus at any given time. The result has been a safe and socially-distanced experience for our students and educators.

With the benefit of these two months of experience, and after reviewing the feedback of our students, our faculty, and based on appropriate health experts and guidelines, we are now planning to expand our on-campus offerings starting in October, with the goal of providing optional on-campus experiences for all Full Sail students enrolled in campus degrees. This expansion will primarily include the majority of labs, as well as some other small on-campus offerings. Student orientation and lectures will remain online through at least the end of the year, and on-campus attendance is voluntary based on the student’s comfort level - labs will still be offered as online-only experiences as well as on campus.

Student schedules for on-campus labs and experiences are available for all students on Full Sail One.

Full Sail has been working with our faculty community to design and create thoughtful and safe lab experiences for our students and our faculty. In all labs, there will be a lab specialist present either through a video conferencing tool or by being physically present in a socially distant matter. In some labs, where a lab specialist is video conferencing with the students there will be a lab proctor present, who will support the lab specialist in a variety of capacities and ensure that the student is accomplishing their lab work. Concierge Service for Academic Needs Regarding COVID-19

Full Sail has established a Concierge Service to address any questions related to your academic experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as academic or scheduling issues. This service will help you gauge whether you want to consider finding a future time to access certain studios or labs. Students will also be able to audit courses through working with the Concierge Service.

Graduations

As much as we would like to be together in-person to celebrate your impressive accomplishments, Full Sail continues to be subject to guidelines regarding large gatherings and therefore we will continue to conduct virtual graduation ceremonies. Graduates and their families who are unable to attend the live broadcasts will be able to access the archived ceremonies at their convenience. All graduates will be invited and can participate, if they would like, in an additional future ceremony when Full Sail reinstates in-person graduations.
